Melissa is an freshman all-around competitor for the College of
William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. In her first
season she has been named ECAC "Rookie of the Week" twice! Mel
has competed in every meet so far during her Freshman season.
Her home club is Arena Gymnastics in Princeton,
New Jersey, where she competed as a Level 10 gymnast all throughout
high school and trained with coaches Valdi Kolasa, Trish Sutton and Wes Marutani.
Melissa loves to train hard and work toward
gaining new skills every year. Her most memorable gymnastic
moment was qualifiying to USAG Nationals in 2006. For the
2007 season she was an alternate qualifier to National
Championships.
Melissa attended public school,
where she made the honor roll every year and is a member
of the National Honor Society. Melissa was also a member of
the REBEL (anti-smoking) club and she volunteered her time to tutor high
school students.
